Risk of explosion
Both the welding sparks and the highly heated welding point can cause explosions. Therefore,
do not use the device in an explosive environment in which there are substances such as flam-
mable liquids, gases, and paint vapours.
Please also note:
Remove the electrode from the electrode holder immediately after finishing your welding work
in order to avoid undesired arcing.
When the welding machine is in operation, do not place the electrode tongs on the welding
machine itself or on any other electrical device.
Before finishing your welding work, do not touch the electrode itself or any other metal object in
contact with the electrode.
Immediately after finishing your welding work, interrupt the power supply of the device.
Make absolutely sure that no cables are wrapped around your body.
Make absolutely sure not to stand between the earth clamp and the electrode holder
when welding. The electrode holder and earth clamp must always be on the same side.
Handling shielding gas cylinders
Incorrect handling of shielding gas cylinders!
Incorrect handling of shielding gas cylinders can lead to serious and fatal injuries.
Follow the instructions of the gas manufacturer and the pressure gas ordinance!
Place the shielding gas cylinder in the receptacles provided and secure it with safety elements!
Avoid heating the shielding gas cylinder!
Residual risks
Despite proper use, residual risks cannot be completely avoided. Due to the type of device, the following
hazards might occur:
a) eye injuries due to glare;
b) burns from touching hot parts of the device or workpiece;
c) risk of accident and fire due to spraying sparks or slag particles in the event of improper protec-
tion;
d) harmful smoke and gas accumulation in the event of a lack of air or insufficient extraction in
closed rooms.
To ensure a long service life of your welding machine, it should regularly be serviced and
cleaned. We recommend servicing every six months. If the device is used frequently, the mainte-
nance interval should be adjusted. Disconnect the welding machine completely from the power
supply during maintenance work. The system is largely maintenance-free. However, the follow-
ing work should be carried out:
Keep the protective devices, air slots, and motor housing as free of dust and dirt as possible.
Wipe the device with a clean cloth and remove coarser dirt with compressed air. Then the lowest
possible pressure should be used.
The device should be cleaned after each use.
Pay attention to the condition of the welding cables, the electrode holder, and the earth clamp.
Regularly clean the electrode holder of weld spatter and contamination. Provide the electrode
holder with a separating agent after cleaning to reduce the adhesion of splashes.
Cables with worn or damaged insulation and thus live parts of the device are dangerous and
can impair the function of the device.
Check that all screws, bolts, and nuts are properly tightened. If they are loose, tighten them
securely.
