6. When attaching the tie-downs to the Powerchair, it is imperative they are fixed onto the Tie-
Down points only of the Powerchair and not onto any attachments or accessories (wheels,
castors, footrests, armrests, anti-tipping levers etc.).
7. The Tie-Downs should be secured, as close as possible, at an angle of 45° to ensure maximum
effectiveness of the restraint in all directions.
8. Your Mirage
strap to be used during transportation. For advice or to purchase these items contact Invacare
or your local dealer.
9. During transportation it is essential that you are secured by three point lap and diagonal occu-
pant restraint system, which is anchored to the vehicle wall and floor rails. Powerchair lapbelts
can be used in addition to the three point restraint system but must not be considered as an
alternative to the occu-
pant restraint system.
Taxi Clamps
Taxi clamp brackets (if
fitted) are intended only
for tie down of the chair,
WITHOUT the occupant.
Under no circumstances
should these be used to
transport the power chair
with an occupant in the
wheelchair seat.
