For certain areas of responsibility, staff have to have special skills and/or training .
Among other things, a knowledge of first aid and of the on-site emergency equipment is also
necessary.

Specialist staff are persons who, based on their training, experience and instruction as well as
their knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, accident prevention rules and plant condi-
tions, are qualified to carry out the activities required and are able, in the process, to identify and
avoid possible hazards.
Trained staff are persons who have been trained by the manufacturer or the operator for a spe-
cific area of responsibility. Trained staff are qualified to carry out the activities corresponding to
the level of knowledge achieved as a result of their training. Trained staff have been made aware
of possible hazards and are able to identify and avoid these.
Instructed staff are persons, who have been authorized by the manufacturer or the operator to
perform certain tasks independently.
