USE

! securely clamp the workpiece
- hold tool firmly with both hands, so you will have full
control of the tool at all times
- before switching on the tool, ensure that front end of
footplate rests flat on the workpiece
- switch on the tool
! the tool should run at full speed before the blade
enters the workpiece
- keep footplate D 2 firmly against the workpiece to
minimize counter-force and vibration
! ensure that the blade has come to a complete
standstill, before you lift the tool from the
workpiece

- keep ventilation slots E 2 uncovered
- do not apply too much pressure on the tool; let the tool
do the work for you
• USE OF TOOL AS RECIPROCATING SAW e
- slide knob F forward to unlock handle G
- pull handle G upwards until it snaplocks
- insert blade to full depth with teeth facing backwards
- ensure that the saw blade extends beyond the work
throughout the stroke
- do not make plunge cuts
• USE OF TOOL AS JIG SAW r
- slide knob F forward to unlock handle G
- push handle G downwards until it snaplocks
- insert blade to full depth with teeth facing forward
- for an accurate straight cut, guide tool with footplate
along the edge of a straight piece of wood
- pre-drill a hole before making cut-outs
APPLICATION ADVICE
• Use the appropriate saw blades t
! tool accepts most commonly available T- and
U-shank jig saw blades as well as standard
reciprocating saw blades y
• When cutting metals, lubricate saw blade regularly with
oil
• Splinter-free cutting
- cover cutting-line with several layers of wide tape
before cutting
- always face the good side of the workpiece down

• This tool is not intended for professional use
• Always keep tool and cord clean (especially ventilation
slots E 2 )
! disconnect the plug before cleaning
• If the tool should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should
be carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL
power tools
- send the tool undismantled together with proof of
purchase to your dealer or the nearest SKIL service
station (addresses as well as the service diagram of the
tool are listed on www.skil.com)
