Standard Configuration The standard configuration is how the transmitters come pro- grammed initially. If you would like a custom configuration, see your dealer. Button The lock/arm, unlock/disarm, and panic functions are controlled . Pressing for one second will alternately lock/arm or unlock/disarm.
Using Your System Locking/Arming Pressing for one second will lock the doors. The red LED will begin to flash once per second. If connected, the vehicle's horn will honk and the parking lights will flash once to confirm locking of the doors. If the ignition is turned on while the vehicle is locked/armed, the horn will honk and the parking lights will flash (if connected).
Unlocking/Disarming To unlock the doors of the vehicle, press vehicle’s horn (if connected) will honk twice, and the parking lights will also flash twice (if connected). The red LED will go out, unless the system is programmed for passive mode. If programmed for passive mode, the LED will begin to flash rapidly when the sys- tem is disarmed.
Silent Mode Use the Silent Mode ™ to temporarily turn off the lock/arm or unlock/disarm confirmation honks by briefly pressing either locking/arming or unlocking/disarming the system. The confirmation honk(s) will then be eliminated for that one opera- tion only. To permanently turn off the lock/arm and unlock/disarm confirmation honks, contact your installation dealer.

Programming Options Programming options control what your system does during normal operation, and require few or no additional parts. However, some programming options may require additional installation labor. The way your system behaves during everyday use is programma- ble. Owner Recognition Owner Recognition is a feature available exclusively from DEI Using a DEI ® Bitwriter hand-held programming tool, your dealer can program many of the system settings. The programmer makes it possible to program different settings for each transmitter that is used with the system.

Glossary of Terms Control Unit: The “brain” of your system. Usually hidden under- neath the dash area of the vehicle. It houses the microprocessor which monitors your vehicle and controls all of the alarm’s func- tions. LED: Red light mounted somewhere in the vehicle. It is used to indicate the status of your system.
