Set the mode selector switch (2) to the
pipes, etc.
Using the stud finder function (fig. B - D)
You can use this function to find wooden studs through drywall boards up to 19 mm thick.
Set the mode selector switch (2) to the stud finder position.
Hold the tool on the wall.
Keep the on/off switch (1) depressed.
The LCD screen (3) will light up and the buzzer will sound once while the tool is calibrating.
The wood stud detection indicator symbol (8) will appear on the screen. After calibration is
completed:
Slowly slide the tool in a horizontal direction over the surface without lifting off or
changing the applied pressure (fig. C). Make sure not to tilt or lift the tool.
When 3 scanner bars (11) on the LCD screen (3) start to climb this indicates that you are
approaching the stud (10). Slow down and slide the tool further until the buzzer sounds and
the centre bull eye (10) flashes. This position indicates the centre of the stud (10) (fig. D3).
Note:
Sometimes it is necessary to move the detector over the same area several times to
localise the wooden stud more precisely. The bulls eye (9) will flash when when a stud
is within close proximity.
When a metal object is detected while in stud mode, the metal indicator symbol (7) will
flash and 2 bars will appear on the LCD screen (fig. D2). When the bars reach the top,
a metal object is within close proximity. When no bars are displayed keep the on/off
switch depressed and reverse the movement to get accurate results.
Using the metal finder function (fig. B - D)
You can use this function (7) to find metal pipes through drywall boards up to 25 mm thick.
Set the mode selector switch (2) to the metal finder position.
Hold the tool in the air away from the wall and any metal objects.
Press the on/off switch (1).
The LCD screen (3) will light up and the buzzer will sound once while the tool is calibrating.
After calibration is completed:
Keep the on/off switch depressed.
The metal detection indicator symbol (7) is indicated on the display.
Place the tool flat against the wall as shown.
Slowly slide the tool in a horizontal direction over the surface without lifting off or
changing the applied pressure (fig. C). Make sure not to tilt or lift the tool.
