Safety information
¾ Take extra care if you are walking backwards.
Risk of tripping!
¾ Switch the motor off when carrying the device
to or from separate working positions and
activate the chain brake.
¾ Never bypass or tamper with safety devices
installed on the device (e.g. by taping the
switch to the handle).
¾ Always be aware of your environment and
possible hazards which you may not be able
to hear because of the noise of the device.
¾ No other persons or animals may remain
within a circumference of 15 metres around
the cutting area because they may be injured
by ejected objects.
¾ Do not work in poor lighting or weather con-
ditions.
¾ Only use the tool for the work for which it is
intended.
¾ Whenever changing position, switch the
motor off and activate the chain brake. Carry
the power tool only with the cutting bar pointing
backwards and with the sheath attached.
¾ Do not use the device if it is raining or there is
a risk of thunderstorms.
¾ Never saw above shoulder height! Do not
bend forwards or lean backwards.
¾ Always saw at a high chain speed to avoid
the risk of chainsaw kickbacks, slipping or
jamming.
¾ If the saw chain is jammed at the cutting
point, stop the saw immediately. Do not
attempt to pull the guide bar out with force. Prise
the cutting point open with a wedge or a bar.
¾ Use the device's bumper spikes when sawing.
The bumper spikes are there to provide safe and
simple operation of the chainsaw. They increase
your stability when performing vertical sawing
work. Therefore, always use the bumper spikes
when sawing. They can anchor into the wood
and thus be used as a pivot point. Always place
the saw on the bumper spike as flat and close as
possible to prevent dangers.
¾ Do not carry out cutting work in bushes, as
this may result in small twigs being caught in
the chain and then thrown out in an uncon-
trolled manner.
¾ Ensure that you can stand safely and securely
in every work position.
¾ Before starting the tool, ensure that the chain
is not touching anything.
¾ Do not stretch the arms too far forwards.
¾ Do not saw any wooden parts that are under
strain.
Safety information
¾ Never work alone. Ensure that you within ear-
shot or sight of, or have some other form of
connection with another person, who is able
to provide first aid in an emergency.
¾ If you are setting the tool down, always en-
sure that the motor is turned off.
¾ Every time you move to a different location,
turn the motor off and fit the protective cover.
¾ Never use the tool in a wet or moist environment.
¾ Only use chains and bars approved by the
manufacturer.
¾ In operation the saw chain cannot be switched
on with the chain brake activated. Check
this prior to use. If the saw chain can indeed be
switched on, have this repaired by a specialist
workshop prior to each further instance of use.
¾ Chain and cutting bar form the cutting set. Only
cutting equipment approved by the manufac-
turer may be used for the respective device.
Pairing of components that are not matched to
each other, can result in injuries and irreparable
tool damage. Chains and blades of different manu-
facturers must not be combined and used together.
Information about vibrations:
¾ Vibrations can cause nerve damage and
impair the blood circulation in the hands and
arms.
¾ When working in the cold, wear warm clothing
and keep your hands warm and dry.
¾ Take breaks.
¾ If you notice that the skin of your fingers
or hands goes numb, tingles, hurts or goes
white, stop working with the machine and, if
necessary, consult a doctor.
¾ The specified vibration emission values:
• Were measured according to a standardised
testing procedure.
• Make it possible to estimate the power tool
emissions and compare these with different
power tools. Dependent on the conditions of
use, the state of the power tool or the tools
inserted into it for use, the actual load may be
higher or lower. When estimating the emissions,
take into account work breaks and phases when
the tool is under reduced load. Define protective
actions, e.g. organisational measures, based on
appropriately adjusted estimates.
After use
¾ Switch the device off, remove the power pack
and check the device for damage. Attention,
danger! Cutting tool still running!
¾ If you need to clean or service the device,
switch it off and remove the power pack.
¾ Always wait until the cutting tool comes to a
standstill.
