WARNING Failure to read and follow the operator's
manual and all operating instructions can
result in death, bodily injury, and/or property
damage.
WARNING Outdoor use ONLY. DO NOT start or run
engine indoors or in an enclosed area, even if
windows and doors are open. Running engines
give off carbon monoxide, an odorless, poison
gas that can cause nausea, fainting or death.
WARNING Fuel and its vapors are flammable and
explosive. Turn off engine and wait at least
2 minutes before refueling. Let spilled fuel
evaporate before starting engine. Always
allow space for fuel expansion.
Items Included:
Operator's Manual and Battery Float Charger (Not Shown)
You Will Need:
• Utility knife • Pliers • Safety glasses • 13 mm wrench • 8 mm wrench
• Socket wrench with a 13 mm socket • Diagonal cutters • Unleaded fuel (minimum 87 octane)
Unpack Generator
1. Set the carton on a rigid, flat surface.
2. Remove everything from carton except generator.
3. Open carton completely by cutting each corner from top to bottom.
4. Ensure you have all included items prior to assembly.
If items are damaged or missing, call 1-800-743-4115.
5. Leave generator on carton to install the wheels.
Attach Wheels
NOTICE Wheels and support leg must be attached prior to adding any oil
and fuel.
1. Tip generator so that engine end is up.
2. Slide axle (e) through holes in generator frame.
3. Slide a wheel (h) over axle. 1
NOTE: Be sure to install wheel with air pressure valve on outboard side.
4. Place a washer (c) on axle (e) and then place an e-ring (b) in axle
groove. 1
CAUTION E-rings can cause eye injury. E-rings can spring back
and become airborne when installing or removing. Always
wear eye protection when installing/removing e-rings.
5. Install e-ring with pliers, squeezing from top of e-ring to bottom of
axle.

6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 to secure second wheel.
Attach Support Leg
1. Tip generator so that engine side is down.
2. Line up holes on support leg (f) with holes in generator frame.
3. Attach support leg using 20 mm bolts (d) and flange nuts (a).
Tighten with a 13 mm socket wrench and 13 mm wrench.
4. Return generator to normal operating position (resting on wheels
and support leg).
Connect Battery
WARNING Battery posts, terminals and related accessories
contain lead and lead compounds - chemicals known to the State
of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm. Wash hands
after handling.
1. Cut off tie wrap securing loose end of negative (black) cable.
2. Using an 8mm wrench, remove bolt (A), lock washer (B) and flat
washer (C) from negative battery terminal (D).
3. Slide lock washer (B), flat washer (C) and negative battery cable (D)
over bolt (A).
4. Reattach bolt to negative battery terminal and tighten.
5. Verify that connections to battery and generator are tight and secure.

Quick Start Guide
WARNING Contact with Muffler area can result in
serious burns. DO NOT touch hot parts and
AVOID hot exhaust gases.
WARNING Generator produces hazardous voltage
and current. Contact with live parts can cause
electric shock or burn. DO NOT operate
under wet conditions. Transfer switch MUST
be used when connecting generator to a building's
electrical system.

8000 Watt* Generator
Add Engine Oil and Fuel
NOTICE Be sure you have attached wheels and support leg prior to this
step.
NOTICE DO NOT use unapproved fuel such as E85.
NOTICE DO NOT mix oil in fuel.
NOTICE DO NOT modify engine to run on alternate fuels.
1. Move generator outdoors to a flat, level surface.
2. Remove oil fill cap/dipstick (E). Using oil funnel (optional), slowly
pour contents of provided oil bottles (g) into oil fill opening until oil
level reaches the "Full" mark on the dipstick.
3. Replace and fully tighten oil fill cap/dipstick.
4. Clean area around fuel fill cap (F), remove cap.
5. Slowly add unleaded fuel (G) to fuel tank (H). Be careful not to overfill.
Allow about 1.5" (4 cm) of tank space (J) for fuel expansion.
6. Replace fuel cap, and let any spilled fuel evaporate before starting
engine.
Move Generator to
Safe Operating Location
1. Move generator outdoors to a flat, level surface, in an area that will
not accumulate deadly exhaust gas. DO NOT place generator where
exhaust gas could accumulate and enter inside or be drawn into a
potentially occupied building. Ensure exhaust gas is kept away from
any windows, doors, ventilation intakes, or other openings that can
allow exhaust gas to collect in a confined area. Prevailing winds and
air currents should be taken into consideration when positioning
generator. 7
2. To reduce the risk of exhaust heat or exhaust gases igniting nearby
combustible material, keep at least 5 feet (1.5 m) clearance on all
sides of generator, including overhead.
Start Generator
1. Make sure unit is on a level surface. Disconnect all electrical loads
from the generator.
2. Turn the fuel valve (K) to the "On" position. The fuel valve handle
should be vertical (pointing toward the ground) for fuel to flow.
3. Move choke lever (L) to CHOKE position.
4. Push engine rocker switch (M) to ON position.
5. Start generator using Manual or Electric starting.
Manual Start:
Pull starter rope handle (N) slowly until resistance is felt. Then pull
cord rapidly to overcome compression, prevent kickback, and start

engine.

Electric Start:
Press and hold START switch (P) for a maximum of 15 seconds.
If engine does not start, pause for 1 minute and repeat.
6. Slowly move choke lever (L) to RUN position as engine warms.

7. If engine does not start, refer to operator's manual for detailed
starting instructions.
Plug in Items to be Powered
WARNING Overloaded electrical cords can overheat, arc, and burn
resulting in death, bodily injury, and/or property damage. ONLY use
cords rated for your loads. Follow all safeties on electrical cords.
1. Let engine stabilize and warm up for a few minutes

after starting.
2. Ensure the circuit breaker (R) on the control panel is in the ON
position.

3. Plug in and turn on the desired 120 Volt (S) and/or 240 Volt (T) AC,
a
single phase, 60 Hz electrical loads.
IMPORTANT: When plugging into the 120 Volt (S) receptacles, plug
items to be powered in sequence as shown.
4. Push-to reset circuit breakers (U) are provided to protect the 120
Volt receptacles and generator against electrical overload.
NOTICE Exceeding generators wattage/amperage capacity can damage
generator and/or electrical devices connected to it.
5. Refer to Do Not Overload Generator section of Operator's Manual.
Shut Down Generator
1. Turn OFF and unplug all electrical loads from generator panel
receptacles. NEVER start or stop engine with electrical devices
plugged in and turned ON.
2. Let engine run at no-load for several minutes to stabilize internal
temperatures of engine and generator.
3. Push engine rocker switch (M) to OFF position.
4. Move fuel valve (K) to OFF position.
5. To prepare for storage, refer to Operator's Manual.
