Brake pads

New brake pads must be run in
before they achieve their opti-

reduction in braking efficiency
can be compensated for by ex-
erting greater pressure on the
brake levers.

Extension of the braking distance,
accident hazard
Brake early.
Tires
New tires have a smooth sur-
face. This must be roughened by
riding in a restrained manner at
various heel angles until the tires
are run in. This running in proce-
dure is essential if the tires are to
achieve maximum grip.
WARNING
Loss of adhesion of new tires
on wet roads and at extreme
angles

Always think well ahead and

The engine speed warner signals
OE
to the rider that the red engine
speed range has been reached.
The red indicator lamp 1 of the
engine speed warner flashes to
provide this signal.
This signal lamp continues to
flash until the rider either upshifts
to a higher gear or reduces the
engine speed. The engine speed
warner can be activated or deac-
