Troubleshooting

Problem
Cause
The Lap Counter is not
No battery, or too weak a battery, in the Lap Counter

Switch the Carrera RC Lap Counter
on at the left-hand side of the traffic
light module.
Press once on the button on the traffic
light module.
The light switches into running light
mode and starts to look for participants.
Now switch on the previously programmed
controller and the display switches auto-
matically into RACE mode. Any other con-
troller within range will now log on automati-
cally, so make sure that when you switch on
the first controller, there are no other con-
trollers switched on. Now all the other com-
petitors in the race can switch on their con-
trollers. Check the number of participants.

Solution
Replace the batteries in the Lap Counter. Make sure you switch off the
Lap Counter after using it (page 11, Fig. 12)
Press the small round "Soft Reset" button above the button on the
traffic light module
Check the controllers of all the participants as described on page 10.
Alter the number of laps on the participants' controllers to a lower
figure than that shown on the first controller
Please clean the sensor, which is located on the underneath of the car
between the front wheels
Clean the ribbon fibre-optic cable
Check the connection of the ribbon fibre-optic cable with the Lap
Counter modules (page 10)
Replace the batteries in the Lap Counter
Start the running lights mode as described on page 11 (see page 11,
Figs 5-7)
Press the small round "Soft Reset" button above the button on the
traffic light module

Once all participants are logged on,
press once again on the button on the
traffic light module (about 3 seconds)
and the starting sequence commences.
As soon as the traffic light changes to
green, the race can start.
On the display you will now see the
race time and your position, each time
you cross the start-finish line, as well as
your fastest lap.
For a new start, press the button on the
traffic light module for one second so
that the traffic light switches into run-
ning mode again (see Fig. 7).
After the race, always switch off the
model first, then the controller and Lap
Counter.
