When the lens unit has been disassembled or repaired, set the lens unit into the camera body and then carry out the
resolution inspection as shown below.
・Resolution inspection
Take a shot of ITE high-resolution chart (J63079) and check if the number of TV lines is within standard.
Standard TV lines: 1150 or more TV lines in the center; 750 or more TV lines in periphery
(Ref. The resolution is represented by the total number of black and white stripe lines, in the unit of " TV lines",
which are visible on TV screen.)
(a) Set the modes of the camera as follows and then take a photo:
Photography mode: AUTO
White Balance: Preset
Image quality mode: FINE
Image size: 5M
Sensitivity: ISO64
Metering system: Center-weighted
AF area selection: Center
Speed light mode: Flash cancel mode
(b) Make an inspection at the zooming position of WIDE, MIDDLE, and TELE. Set the object distance of WIDE
(about 0.6 m), MIDDLE (about 1.2m), and TELE (about 1.7 m) , and adjust so that the chart can be fully placed
within the LCD. Then mount the camera on the tripod firmly.
(c) Open the shot image with Photoshop, and magnify it by zooming to 100% for checks.
(d) Check if the resolution marked in 4 red circles each for the center and the peripheral 4 corners of the frame can be
visible in black and white.
