• Scan valuable or single-copy documents using the document glass, not the ADF, to avoid

the risk of damaging the original in a paper jam.
• The allowable curl on papers fed by the ADF is shown below. Do not use the ADF for
papers with curls exceeding 30˚.
To scan photographs, books and papers not suited for the ADF, lift up the ADF on its hinges,
position the item directly on the document glass and close the ADF. Then initiate the scan.
4. Close the ADF cover.
