Print Head Cleaning

Clean the print head if you suspect that the nozzles might be clogged.
Cleaning the print head consumes ink, so perform print head cleaning only when necessary.
Ensure that the inner cover is closed.

(1) Press the Menu
Important Do not perform any other operations until the print head cleaning
After print head cleaning finishes
Note
After print head cleaning finishes, print the nozzle check pattern to verify that
the print head nozzles are clean. See "Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern" on
page 71.
When ink is low, the nozzle check pattern is not printed correctly. See
"Replacing Ink Tanks" on page 67.
If the print quality remains poor, repeat head cleaning 3 times.
If the print quality still remains poor, perform deep cleaning. See "Print Head
Deep Cleaning" on page 74.
