9 Maintenance

All measuring systems are calibrated with our own calibration equipment for which the manufacturer is associ-
ated with the German Calibration Service. They are calibrated with air or the respective process gas and the
values are converted for the respective application if necessary.
The mass flowmeter is almost maintenance-free. Only gases with moist impurities may cause the transducer to
require occasional cleaning (depending on the degree of contamination).
9.1

Cleaning the detecting element

1. Switch off the supply voltage.
2. Remove the detector from the pipe component or weld-on adapter (make sure that the pipe is
not under pressure).
3. Messwertaufnehmer aus dem Rohrbauteil bzw. Aufschweißadapter ausbauen.
4. Clean carefully the sensor unit with warm water or alcohol. We recommend the use of a soft brush
or a cotton-tipped stick.
CAUTION
Under no circumstance should hard objects like screwdrivers, pincers or similar articles be used.
These could cause irreparable, mechanical damage to the sensor unit!
The unit must not be cleaned in an ultrasonic bath.
5. Dry sensor unit for some minutes or blow it dry.
6. Check the sealing between the detector and pipe component or weld-on adapter for correct status and
neatness, and if need be replace sealing with a new one.

10. Switch on the supply voltage.
9.2

Decommissioning

When there is a chance that safe operation is no longer possible, put the device out of operation and secure it
against unintended operation.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible
– if the device shows visible signs of damage,
– if the device does no longer work,
– after long storage under unfavorable conditions,
– after transport under unfavorable conditions.
