Starting
Fold in wheels, if present

Lay the unit on the ground in a

secure position: It must rest on the
flange of the engine and the support
on the frame. The working tool must
not touch the ground or any other
MM 55, MM 55 C
objects – see also

Assume a steady stance – as
N
shown; always stand at the side of
the machine – risk of injury by
rotating working tool!
With the left hand, press the
N
machine firmly against the ground –
hand on loop handle
Do not stand or kneel on the shaft!
Grab the starter grip with your right
N
hand
Version without Easy2Start
Pull the starter grip slowly until you
N
feel it engage and then give it a
brisk, strong pull
Do not pull out the starter rope
completely – risk of breakage!
Version with Easy2Start
Pull the starter grip slowly until you
N
feel it engage and then give it a
slow, even pull
Do not pull out the starter rope
completely – risk of breakage!
Both versions
Do not let the starter grip snap back
N
– guide it slowly back into the
housing so that the starter rope can
rewind properly
continue cranking
N
When the engine has turned over for the
first time

at the latest after the fifth time the
N
starter rope is pulled, move the
choke lever (8) to e
continue cranking
N
Once the engine is running
Blip the throttle trigger so that the
N
engine settles down to idle speed
