This section describes how to connect to and manage the device.
3.1

Connecting to the Device

The following describes the various methods for accessing the RUGGEDCOM RMC30
console and Web interfaces on the device. For more detailed instructions, refer to the
RUGGEDCOM ROS Configuration Manual for the RUGGEDCOM RMC30.
RS232/RS422/RS485 Serial Console Terminal
Connect a PC or terminal directly to the RS232 serial terminals to access the boot-
time control and RUGGEDCOM ROS console interface.
Note
The console interface is intended to be used only as a temporary connection during
initial configuration or troubleshooting.
The serial terminal implements RS232 DCE (Data Communication Equipment) on a
Phoenix-style compression connector. For more information, refer to

Connect the copper Ethernet port to a management switch and access the
RUGGEDCOM RMC30 console and Web interfaces via the device's IP address. The
factory default IP address for the RUGGEDCOM RMC30 is https://192.168.0.1.

Once the device is installed and connected to the network, it must be configured.
All configuration management is done via the RUGGEDCOM RMC30 interface. For
