I dropped my Temporal scanner and now it's reading Batt on the screen, do I need to repair it?

No, a "bAtt" reading indicates a low battery, not necessarily the need for repair. Replace the battery following the manual's instructions. Repair is only needed if a "Err" message appears after restarting.
