When first purchased, or after
prolonged (> 30 days) storage,
the following action is strongly
recommended. Power on the
unit and after Warm up run with
the sensitivity level in the high
position for several minutes
before using. This action will
guarantee that the sensor is
fully conditioned for maximum
response to refrigerant gas.
Once conditioned, this process
does NOT need repeating on a
regular basis; rather only if the
sensor remains idle and stored
for an extended period.

4. To search for leaks, first ensure
the sensor is exposed to fresh
air for few seconds then move
the probe tip slowly towards the
test area or component.
5. If refrigerant is detected, the
100%
sound will increase in rate and
pitch and the display will show
concentric rings increasing
outward from the center as the
concentration of refrigerant
increases (see Fig. 7).

6. If an alarm occurs before a leak
source is indicated or confirmed,
the Automatic or Manual reset
may be used to silence the alarm
and reset the baseline sensitivi-
ty. This allows the user to move
through a given refrigerant con-
centration without alarm in order
to find a higher concentration
closer to or at the leak. Such reset
