The unit will default to the Medi-
um sensitivity level and Automatic
mode (indicated as shown in item
8, Fig. 1.1 ) once the unit comple-
tes the warm up cycle. To change
sensitivity levels, press the Sensi-
tivity button (item 6, Fig. 1.1) once
for High sensitivity (three bars)
and again for Low sensitivity (one
bar). Pressing a third time returns
the sensitivity level to Medium.

The sensitivity level can only be
changed in Automatic mode.
For more information on, and inst-
ructions for changing modes, refer
to Section 6.1.2 Automatic and
Manual Reset Modes.
6.1.2
Automatic and Manual
Reset Modes
To allow the user to find the leak
source easily, the detector can
re-calibrate itself either automati-
cally (default) or be manually re-
calibrated to the ambient level of
refigerant and reset (or zero) the
alarm after there is a detection.
In Automatic mode the A icon will
appear in the lower left of the
screen as shown in Fig. 2. In this
mode, after an initial alarm, if the
refrigerant concentration detected
is not increased, the detector will
automatically reset the alarm af-
ter approximately 3 seconds. The
CS LD 1.0 will now only alarm to
higher concentrations. To automati-
cally return to maximum sensitivity

mode: Press and hold the Sensiti-
vity button and release when the
A (AUTO) icon is replaced with M
(MANUAL) on the display. In Manu-
al mode, the screen will display the
M icon (Fig. 3) rather than the A. In
this mode, the detector will conti-
nue to alarm if refrigerant is detec-
ted until the user presses the Sen-
sitivity button to manually reset the
alarm or the probe is moved away
from the source of refrigerant.

Both modes allow the user to get
closer to the leak source without
the detector continually alarming
by essentially resetting the "base-
line" detection level.To return to
Automatic mode, press and
hold the Sensitivity button and
release when the A icon is dis-
played.
To reset the alarm in Manual mode,
briefly press the Sensitivity button.
The display will show the M icon
with the reset arrow as shown in
Fig. 4.
