- Page 3 MatrixRIB. Stable fixation of normal and osteoporotic ribs—plates. Indications The Synthes MatrixRIB Fixation System is indicated for the fixation and stabilization of rib fractures, fusions and osteotomies of normal and osteoporotic bone. Expose fractured rib Measure rib thickness Expose the rib to allow a minimum of three screws Insert the caliper tip through a small incision at the on each side of the fracture.
