ESCRIPTION
The QSFP+ 40G LR4 Transceiver (QSFP) is designed to be used
with 40 Gbps links over single mode fiber. It integrates four
channels (CWDM DFB laser) and multiplexes them into a single
channel for 40 Gbps optical transmission. On the receiver side,
the module de-multiplexes the 40 Gbps optical signal into four
CWDM channels. Each channel operates at 10.3125 Gbps. The
module can operate at 40 Gbps up to 10 km using 9/125
The product is compliant with the QSFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3ba
40GBASE-LR4.

NSTALLATION
Before installing the equipment, inspect the QSFP. If damage has
occurred during shipping, file a claim with the carrier, and then
contact ADTRAN Customer Support. For more information, refer
to the warranty.
To install the QSFP into an appropriate module, complete the
following steps:

Do not remove the protective end cap from the QSFP until the
fiber optic cable is ready to be connected.
1. Insert the QSFP into the SFP cage on the module. Ensuring
that the latch handle is facing upward, slide the QSFP all the
way into the SFP cage until there is an audible "click."

The latch handle on the QSFP is for removal only. When
removing the QSFP, rotate the latch away from the QSFP, the
QSFP should easily slide out of the cage.

It is recommended that the protective end cap remains on
whenever the transceiver optical fiber connector is not
inserted.
2. Continue the installation and turn-up of the host module
using the instructions in the documentation provided with the
module or other system-level documentation available
online at www.adtran.com.
