17.4 Identifying the Carburetor
► Use the following illustrations to identify the
carburetor installed in your machine and then
adjust the carburetor as described:

17.5 Standard Setting on Carbu‐
retor 1

► Turn high speed screw (H) counterclockwise
as far as stop (no more than 3/4 turn).

► Turn the low speed screw (L) carefully clock‐
wise until it is against its seat, then it back it off
a 3/4 turn.
17.6 Standard Setting on Carbu‐
retor 2
L
► Turn the high speed screw (H) carefully clock‐
wise until it is against its seat, then turn it back
2 full turns.
► Turn the low speed screw (L) carefully clock‐
wise until it is against its seat, then turn it back
1 1/2 turns.
17.7 Adjusting Idle Speed
► Carry out the standard setting.
► Start and warm up the engine.
17.7.1 Engine stops while idling
► Turn the idle speed screw (LA) slowly clock‐
wise until the engine runs smoothly – the cut‐
ting attachment must not rotate.
17.7.2 Cutting attachment rotates when
engine is idling
► Turn the idle speed screw (LA) counterclock‐
wise until the cutting attachment stops moving
and then turn the screw another 1/2 to 1 full
turn in the same direction.
