    Introduction INTRODUCTION Stand alone IS15 Rudder The IS15 Rudder instrument may be used as a stand-alone rudder indicator shown in Figure 1-1. More instruments (max 3 units with Roblink Power cable) may be added to the system by using single cables in a “daisy chain”. Instructions for installing the rudder feedback unit are found in chapter 4.2.

    Operation Display backlighting Press the button and hold for 2 seconds. The display then presents the backlighting level. Repeat pressing until desired backlighting level. Selectable values are 1-7 and off (0). The Heading Display The Heading Display is the first display that is shown after power up.

    IS15 Rudder Manual INSTALLATION Mounting of Instrument head Caution Do not install the instrument where moisture at the rear could be present. It can cause damage by entering the breathing hole or by coming into contact with the electrical connectors. The instrument head is fully waterproof from the front and can be installed on deck or below.

    Installation 1. Do not remove the protection film on the display before the installation and set-up is completed. 2. Carefully position the self-adhesive template provided on the surface where the display head is to be mounted. Allow sufficient space for the protection cover as shown on the template when instruments are installed adjacent to each other.

Do not try to remove the transmitter arm from the feedback unit. The unit is factory adjusted and need no further adjustment at installation than described below.

    IS15 Rudder Manual SETTING UP THE RUDDER INSTRUMENT First time turn on Note ! Turn on the NMEA “listener(s)” and “talker(s)” that are connected to the IS15 Rudder before the first time you turn it on (also when you turn on after a COMMUNICATION RESET or a MASTER RESET).

When an instrument is replaced, it is important that a Master Reset has been made on the new one before it is connected to the system.

    Fault Finding FAULT FINDING If the instrument is part of an IS15 instrument system including one of the following: IS15 Transceiver, IS15 Power Supply or IS15 Expander please refer to the IS15 General manual. If it is connected as a stand alone rudder indicator, then perform the fault finding on that instrument.

    Maintenance MAINTENANCE General Maintenance Caution Do not use any abrasives, chemical cleaners, petrol or diesel to clean the units. The instrument heads will require no maintenance apart from occasional cleaning. Use fresh water and a mild soap solution (not a detergent). Annual Maintenance Check all connections to the instruments and, if necessary, cover with silicone grease or petroleum jelly.

Should the unit have to be returned to your dealer, adequate packing must be used.
