1.- INTRODUCTION
This service manual is intended for users of type APM horizontal pumps. It contains the
instructions for installation, service and maintenance.
Before proceeding to do any kind of work on the equipment, users should read this manual carefully and
pay attention to any suggestions and tips given in it, particularly the ones preceded by the following safety
symbols:

The manual is supplied along with the pump and should be kept close to the point of installation, duly
protected so that this can be consulted by users when required.
2.- DESCRIPTION AND USE
2.1.- Description
Bombas Ideal, S.A., supply several staged pumps in order to give high pressures. Our pumps being of a-
tough and compact construction, actually meet all the latest hydraulic requirements for this particular type
of pump.
Our pump's rotors are radial, duly closed and hydraulically compensated by black blades. Also, they are
dynamically balanced.
The uptake of the residual axial thrust takes place through large sized bearings housed in supporting
boxes and lubricated with a lubricant of appropriate quality.
Every stage is made up by a rotor and a pump body.
Direction of rotation from de coupling side is clockwise, for AP 0.15 - AP 0.25 - AP 0.4 - AP 1 and RNP,
for AP 45 - AP 55 - AP 62 - AP 65 - AP 82 - AP 102 - AP 105, the sense of rotation is counter clockwise.
Upon request the sense of rotation can be changed when the pump is driven from the opposite side.
The stuffing boxes are ready to incorporate braided packing in a quality in line with the liquid being
pumped.
