TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

PROBLEM

BLANK DISPLAY

TOUCH PADS DO NOT RESPOND
WHEN PRESSED
WON'T START CYCLE
WON'T DISPENSE
WON'T FILL
POSSIBLE CAUSE/TEST
NOTE: Possible Cause/Tests must be performed in the sequence shown for each problem.
Possible Causes
– UI not powered or no power to the washer.
– Wrong communication between CCU and UI.
Procedure for UI not powered
1. Check that the washer is plugged into a working outlet.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check continuity from the power cord to the line filter.
4. Check continuity from the line filter to the transformer.
5. Perform Ohm meter test on the transformer (page 13).
Procedure for wrong communication
1. Unplug the washer or disconnect power.
2. Wait for 2 minutes.
3. Reconnect power.
If the display fails to turn on, replace the UI.
Possible Causes
– Keypad ribbon disconnected, damaged, or contaminated, or installed with ribbon flap in wrong position.
– Door switch disconnected, loose, or damaged.
Procedure if matrix keyboard is disconnected
In this error, the button does not respond in any mode (normal operation, set-up, etc.)
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check that the keypad ribbon is connected to the UI.
3. Clean the matrix keypad ribbon of soap or other residues.
4. Verify the function of the keypad: perform keypad matrix test in service manual. If keypad fails to operate,
replace it.
Procedure if door switch is disconnected
In this error, the button works normally in set-up mode, but will not start a user paid cycle.
1. Verify door switch operation by performing test for F26 error code (page 6), even if the F26 code is not displayed.
If the above procedures fail to solve the problem, replace the UI.
1. Open and close the door. The door must be opened between consecutive wash cycles.
2. Check the door switch/lock mechanism using the diagnostics. See Diagnostic Test.
3. If door is locked, drain the washer, either in a diagnostic mode or by draining from the pump manually.
4. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
5. Check the wire harness connection of the door lock.
6. Check the wire harness connection of the UI–CCU.
7. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
8. Verify washer operation by running a diagnostic test or any cycle.
1. Verify that water is coming into the dispenser.
2. Verify that the washer is level.
3. Remove the insert to verify that the dispenser drawer is not clogged with detergent.
1. Check installation. Verify hot and cold water faucets are open.
2. Check inlet valves.
3. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
4. Check water connections to the washer and within the washer. Ensure that water supply hoses are unobstructed.
Check for plugged screen.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check operating pressure sensor.
7. Check drain pump motor.
8. Verify washer operation by running a diagnostic test or any cycle.
9. Check under 'WON'T DISPENSE' problem above.
