Using the keyboard and
trackwheel
Your handheld's keyboard contains standard alphabetic characters.
To generate numbers, punctuation marks, and special characters,
press the Alt key in combination with the alphabetic keys. The
trackwheel helps you navigate, view, and select items on each
screen. To scroll through menu items or text, roll the trackwheel. To
select applications and menu options, click (press) the trackwheel.
The following chart describes special keyboard and trackwheel
combinations that can help you navigate applications, type text, and
configure options on your handheld.

Turning on the power
Click (press) the trackwheel to turn on the
pager-sized handheld.
Turning on/off the power
Press the Power button once to turn on the
handheld.
Hold the Power button to turn off the handheld.
Activating backlighting
When your handheld is on, press the Power
button to activate backlighting. Press it again to
turn off backlighting. Backlighting turns off
automatically if you do not press any keys for 20
seconds.
Press the Alt key three times to activate
backlighting. Backlighting turns off
automatically if you do not press any keys or roll
the trackwheel for 10 seconds.
