    ® The i-gum G is the gas-operated version. The butane propane mix gas cartridges used in the i-gum G are fitted with a standard type EN 417 threaded, self-sealing safety valve. Please refer to the instructions on the bottle for correct procedure. The built-in battery operates amongst other things the gas ignition and the operation display.

    The solution can cause floors to become slippery; it is advised to mark the floor of the job site to ® warn people. (Please note: the wet floor sign is not part of the i-gum system delivery). ® In order to use the i-gum on hard (outdoor) as well as soft (indoor) surfaces, both steel and nylon brushes are provided.

    2 Description ® The compact lightweight i-gum consists of two main parts: 1. The body that contains the cleaning solution and the gas cartridges and that can be carried as a backpack. 2. The steam lance with the integrated gas heating installation to deliver the heated gum cleaner solution exactly on the gum patch.

    When using as a backpack fit the machine to the operator and adjust straps before inserting the batteries or filling the tank with the gum remover solution. Proceed only when the operator is ® comfortable using the backpack, else use the i-gum as a trolley. 3.1.3 Brush condition Make sure to check the condition of the brush before use, change the brush only when the machine is turned off and the steam lance is cooled.

    Store the steam lance in its holder during transport and storage. • The gas cartridges can remain in the machine during storage and transport. • ® ® Store the i-gum in an upright position, under normal storage conditions. Don't expose the i-gum to open fire.

    5.3 Trolley or backpack operation 5.3.1 Trolley operation ® When you use the i-gum as a trolley it is advised to remove the harness so loose straps cannot be caught between the wheels. To remove the harness: 1. Remove padding (Figure 9, pos 1) that is attached to the back plate with Velcro.

    Figure 11 WARNING Don't charge the built-in battery while the charger is in the storage bag. This might overheat the charger. Make sure the i-gum® is turned off before you charge the built-in battery.

    6.3.1 Adjust pump speed The pump will default operate at low speed. You can change it to medium or high speed for more steam via the H/M/L multi function button. 1. Press the H/M/L multi function button (Figure 17, pos 2). 2.

    6.4 Backpack operation ® 1. Turn on the i-gum using the main power switch on the bottom (Figure 22, pos 2) left of the body. 2. Check the battery power indicator (Figure 22, pos 1). (See 6.1.1 for charging the built-in battery.)
  • Page 31 8. Put on the backpack. 9. Adjust waistband (Figure 21, pos 2) and straps (Figure 21, pos 1) for comfort. ® 10. Walk to the job site with the i-gum and a wet floor marker. 11. Mark the job site.

    The wires on the steel brush are sharp and bended after use, make sure you do not cut yourself and grab the brush by the top. ® 1. Make sure the i-gum is turned off and completely cooled down. 2. Unscrew the old brush by a small turn clockwise (right) and pull (Figure 31).

    7.2 Recommended additional cleaning ® It is recommended once per month to rinse the i-gum with water. 7.2.1 Clean with water 1. Pour some water in the fluid tank (see 6.1.3). 2. Make sure the drip tray (Figure 33, pos 2) is attached to the machine.

    7.2.2 Drain the machine ® 1. Put the i-gum on a table with the back side towards you. 2. Release the drainage tube (Figure 34, pos 2) via the clips (Figure 34, pos 1). 3. Put the end of the drainage tube in a bucket or empty bottle.

    7.2.4 Replace the fuse When the i-gum® has no power at all, the fuse might be blown. WARNING Make sure the i-gum® is switched off before you replace the fuse. Replace the fuse: 1. Make sure the i-gum® is switched off.

    7.3 Recommended service time When you do not have a service agreement check the timer on the bottom left side of the machine on a regular basis. It is recommended to schedule a full service by one of our service partners every 1,000 hours.
