SAS Connections

When using the LT20 S2/LT40 S2/LT60 S2 with a SAS connection, note the following items:
3.1.1.1
For 6Gbit/s SAS Cards
When the LT20 S2/LT40 S2/LT60 S2 is used with a Fujitsu 6Gbit/s SAS card, Oracle 6Gbit/s SAS card, or LSI Logic
6Gbit/s SAS card, the OS needs to be made aware of the changer device by executing the following command
after the OS starts up:
# update_drv -a -i '"scsiclass,08"' sgen
After executing the command, check the device file.
# ls -l /dev/scsi/changer
The changer device is recognized if the following output or an output similar to it appears.
...
lrwxrwxrwx
../../../devices/pci@400/pci@1/pci@0/pci@4/LSI,sas@0/iport@8/medium-changer@
w500110a001389f60,1:changer
...
Executing the command may result in the output shown below. This output is not an error if the OS
recognizes the changer device properly.
# update_drv -a -i '"scsiclass,08"' sgen
("scsiclass,08") already in use as a driver or alias.
