Important
Save these instructions.
1. This manual contains important safety and operating instructions.
2. Do not expose the charger to rain or snow.
3. Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by the battery charger manufacturer may result in a risk of re,
electric shock or injury.
4. To reduce the risk of damage to the electric plug and cord, pull by the plug rather than the cord when disconnecting
the charger.
5. An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Use of an improper extension cord could result in a risk
of re and electric shock. If an extension cord must be used, make sure:
• That the pins on the extension cord plug are the same number, size and shape as those of the plug on the charger;
• That the extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition;
• That the wire size is large enough for the AC ampere rating of the charger, as speci ed in section 8.
6. Do not operate the charger with a damaged cord or plug – replace the cord or plug immediately.
7. Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way;
take it to a quali ed serviceman.

Personal safety precautions
2.1 Consider having someone close by who can come to your aid when you working near a lead-acid battery.
2.2 Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case any battery acid comes into contact with skin, clothing, or eyes.
2.3 Wear complete eye protection and clothing protection. Avoid touching your eyes while working near the battery.
2.4 If any battery acid comes into contact with your skin or clothing, wash it immediately with soap and water.
If any acid gets into your eyes, immediately ush eyes with cold water for at least 10 minutes and
seek immediate medical attention.
2.5 NEVER smoke or allow any spark or ame in the vicinity of a battery or engine.
2.6 Be extra cautious in order, to reduce the risk of dropping a metal tool onto the battery.
It could spark or short-circuit the battery or another electrical part and cause an explosion.
2.7 Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches when working with a lead-acid battery.
A lead-acid battery can produce a short-circuit current strong enough to weld a ring or the like to metal,
causing a severe burn.
2.8 Only use the charger for charging only LEAD-ACID-type rechargeable batteries. It is not intended to supply power to a low
voltage electrical system other than in a starter-motor application. Do not use the battery charger for charging dry-cell
batteries that are commonly used with home appliances such as AA and AAA. These batteries may burst and cause injury
or damage to property.
2.9 NEVER charge a frozen battery
Control

Use the charge rate selector switch to select the charge rate or engine start setting.
• 2 A Slow/Trickle Charge for 12 V
• 10 A Fast Charge for 12 V
• 40 A Rapid Charge for 6 V & 12 V
• 100 A for 6 V Engine start
• 200 A for 12 V Engine Start – Provides additional amps for cranking an engine with a weak or run-down battery.
Timer switch
The timer allows you to set a speci ed time for charging. After the timer is up, the charger stops charging your battery.
