TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Winch Line
has difficulty
Bent drum side
spooling off the
flange.

Worn drum bearing
surfaces.
Free spool clutch is
damaged.
Winch is not
mounted correctly or
square on the winch
plate.
Internal damage
to ring gear.
Possible Cause

Possible Solution
Replace Drum.
Replace motor sub-assembly and/or
clutch sub-assembly.
Remove and inspect gear carrier
assembly. Inspect output gear,
intermediate gear, input gear, sun gear
ring and gear ring output. Remove
burns with file.
Check mounting hole measurements for
consistency and squareness. Be sure
that mounting surface is flat and
mounting bolts are tight.
Disassemble gear assembly, inspect for
damage, clean and grease or replace
worn or damaged parts.
