6 Putting into operation

6.2 Tungsten electrode

The electrode type is set by EN ISO 6848. The max. length of electrode depends on the type
of torch.
 3.1 Technical Data on page EN-5
NOTE
• The welding performance is affected by the selection of the tungsten electrode and by
wear. A smooth, groove-free sharpened end of the tungsten electrode has a positive effect
on the welding result.

6.3 Connecting the cable assembly

1 Plug the cable assembly connection into the power supply and secure it with a connection
nut.

6.4 Mounting the TIG welding torch system on the robot

1 Fasten the torch clamp (1) on the cylindrical shaft end of the insulating jacket (3) with the
screw (2).
2 Mount the torch clamp (1) with the screw (4), the disc (6) and the nut (7) to the
ABICOR BINZEL CAT torch mount (5).
For proper mounting of the CAT ABICOR BINZEL torch mount, please observe the relevant
operating instructions.
