Getting started: Using the T68 as a modem
• To check CID in the phone, scroll to: Connect / Data comm. / Data accounts . Open the account
you use for GPRS and check what CID is used for that account. If, for example, the CID is 3,
the dial string above should be *99***3# .
9.Tap Details and enter the following settings:
• Connection type: PPP.
• Idle timeout: optional.
• Query DNS: Select, if your ISP does not ask you to enter the DNS settings manually.
• IP Address: Select.
10.Tap OK to save the settings.
11.Tap Connect to connect to your ISP.
Note: Your ISP may use firewalls/proxy servers that may require further settings to your
browser such as host number and port. Please contact your ISP for more information.
If Authentication is set to Normal in your phone's data account, you have to enter a user name
in the Palm™. If a user name and a password is not used by your operator, you have to use a
dummy user name instead. To avoid this problem you can set Authentication to None .
To check your Authentication settings
1.In your phone, scroll to Connect / Data comm. / Data accounts .
2.Select the GPRS account you are using.
3.Scroll to Edit / Advan. settings / Authentication .
