X. HINTS
It takes practice in order to use the breast pump the best possible way. So it will take you at least several attempts before
starting successfully to use the electric breast pump.
Choose a quiet time to use the pump – time, when no one will disturb you.
2. Sit in a comfortable chair, in a perpendicular position to the ground. Please, put a comfortable cushion behind your
back before you start using the breast pump. Take a glass of water and place it near you, because you may feel thirsty
during the pumping process.
3. Place a warm cloth on your breasts for a few minutes before starting to express the milk as this may facilitate the
process and relieve the tension in the breasts.
4. Warmth and relaxation can help for the easier pumping of the breast milk, so before using the pump, you might like to
take a bath or a shower.
5. Try expressing from one breast while your baby is feeding from the other, or continue expressing just after the feed.
6. Repositioning the pump on your breast from time to time can help stimulate the secretion. Practice in order to find the
best pumping technique for you. If the process is causing you breast pain, stop immediately and consult with a doctor at
once.
7. Make sure that you have not blocked or covered the air opening of the pump body.
8. Breast pump use errors:
The electric pump is an apparatus, which helps postpartum women to ease the pain and to extend the breastfeeding
time. It uses the premise that there is sufficient milk and smooth mammary gland. For some women, which are mothers
for the first time, the mammary gland usually is not smooth enough. A reason sometimes can be the congenital nipple
inversion or milk water shortage. So, we suggest you before purchasing and using the pump, to consult with a doctor who
could confirm that your mammary gland is smooth and that the breast milk is in normal condition. Do not buy and use the
pump only as a device to unblock your milk ducts.
XI. HOW TO STORE THE BREAST MILK
1. Only milk collected with a sterile pump should be stored for feeding Your baby.
2. Breast milk can be stored in a bottle warmer at 40°C, so you can breast feed Your baby within 4 hours.
3.If you are storing freshly expressed milk, please, seal it, the breast milk can be stored for 10 hours in room temperature
19 - 25°C.
4. Expressed breast milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours (but not in the door) or in the freezer for up
to 3 months.
5. Frozen breast milk must firstly thaw in the refrigerator naturally. If you need it urgently, put it in a kettle and thaw it.
After thawing, the breast milk can be stored in a refrigerator for 24 hours.
6. NEVER REFREEZE THE BREAST MILK.
7. The frozen breast milk can be heated gradually in warm water or in baby bottle warmer.
8.NEVER HEAT THE MILK IN A MICROWAVE AS THIS MAY DESTROY VALUABLE NUTRIENTS AND ANTIBODIES. In
addition, the uneven heating may cause hot spots in the liquid which could cause burns to your baby's throat. Never
immerse a frozen milk container in boiling water as this may cause it to crack/ split. Never put boiling water directly into a
feeding bottle, allow to cool for around 20 minutes before filling.
XII. CLEANING AND STERILIZATION OF THE PUMP
WARNING! NEVER STERILIZE AND NEVER DIP INTO WATE THE PUMPING MECHANISM AND THE AIR TUBE THAT
CONNECTS THE PUMP BODY AND THE MECHANISM. OTHERWISE, THE BREAST PUMP WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WORK.
 You can wipe the pumping mechanism using dry soft, non-abrasive cloth.
 Clean and sterilize the parts of the pump coming in contact with your breasts and the breast milk before initial use and
after each use, follow the instructions below.
1.Pull the tube from the pumping mechanism and place the tube and mechanism elsewhere. Separate the rest parts: 1, 2,
3, 5, 11, 12, 13 then wash them in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Do not use antibacterial or abrasive
cleaners/detergents.
2.Sterilize parts 1, 2, 3, 5, 11, 12, in steam sterilizer or by boiling for 10 minutes.
3.Do not clean the pumping mechanism, the charger or the connecting tube with water. This may lead to product
damage. If water enters the connecting tube, it can reach the motor during use and damage it.
 CLEANING SUGGESTIONS
1.Use steam sterilizer for sterilizing the pump. Boiling is not recommended. The first reason is that the product is easy to
damage, if exposed to improper sterilization. Second, this unscientific method of sterilization cannot achieve the
complete effect.
