Operation

4.1
General
The industrial control valve is an assembly that controls the oil flow and pressure between the pump
and the tool being used. Industrial control valves are available in two versions; for single-acting tools
and double-acting tools. The M304 industrial control valve enbles you to switch between single-acting
tools and double-acting tools.
CAUTION
Observe the working principle of the tool being used. Only connect a single-acting tool to a
valve for single-acting tools and a double-acting tool to a valve for double-acting tools.
The M304 enables you to connect both types of tools: put its switch in the correct position.
4.2
Connecting/disconnecting the manifold block
The High-Flow coupling is the screw-on coupling used on single or duo hoses. If you want to connect or
disconnect a tool and/or a hose, make sure that the pressure on the pump coupler is relieved first.
4.2.1
Connecting the High-Flow couplers
Refer to Fig. 11.
The equipment is equipped with female High-Flow couplings. The hydraulic hose(s) from the pump
must be provided with male High-Flow couplings.
WARNING
Never use damaged couplers.
Always make sure that the pressure relief valve is in the "neutral" position and that the pump
is switched off, before you connect hydraulic hose(s) to the pump.
Remove the dust caps from the female and male couplers.
Check the couplers for dirt and damage and clean them if necessary.
Screw the male coupling into the female coupling and tighten the locking ring as far as possible.
Do not use pliers or similar tools to connect the couplings.
Connect the dust caps together.
4.2.2
Connecting the Quick-Lock couplers
Refer to Fig. 12.
The equipment is equipped with female or male and female Quick-lock couplers. The hydraulic hose(s)
from the pump must be provided with male or female and male Quick-lock couplers.
WARNING
Never use damaged couplers.
Always make sure that the pressure relief valve is in the "neutral" position and that the pump
is switched off, before you connect hydraulic hose(s) to the pump.
When the pump is equipped with a female coupler, it is intended for a single acting system. When the
pump is equipped with a male and female coupler, it is intended for a double acting system.
Turn the retainer ring on the female coupler anti-clockwise to unsecure the lock ring.
Remove the dust cap from the female coupler by pushing back the lock ring. The dust cap slips off.
Pull the dust cap from the male coupler.
Check the couplers for dirt and damage and clean them if necessary.
