2.6 Unauthorized modification and manufacture of spare parts
Alterations to the pump or installation may only be carried out with the manufacturer's consent.
The use of original spare parts and accessories authorised by the manufacturer will ensure
safety. The use of any other parts may invalidate claims invoking the liability of the manufac-
turer for any consequences.
2.7 Unauthorised operating methods
The operating safety of the pump or installation supplied can only be guaranteed if it is used in
accordance with paragraph 1 of the operating instructions. The limiting values given in the cata-
logue or data sheet must neither be exceeded nor allowed to fall below those specified.

4 Product and accessory description

4.1 Pump description (fig. 1)
During operation, submersible motor-driven pump STS80/100 must be immersed in the flow
medium up to the uppermost surface of the motor (min. level inside shaft). It is driven by an
encased three-phase current motor made from stainless steel and which is impermeable to
pressurised water (1.4404) and is equipped with a non-chokable impeller (VORTEX). The non-
chokable impeller has short, radially-aligned blades which are only immersed in the liquid current
to approximately 1/3 of the pump housing height. This impeller is used for gas-charged fluids
and sewage containing long-fibre solids.
The STS80/100 immersed motor pump housing (pos. 1), impeller (pos. 2) and adapter (pos. 3) are
made from gray cast iron EN-JGL-250 (GG25). The flow medium enters from below through a
central opening and exits laterally via the DN 80 or DN 100 pressure-pipe connection.
The motor is sealed against the pump chamber using 2 seals:

So as to ensure both seals are lubricated and cooled, the space between the seals is filled with a
specific quantity of (biodegradable) white oil. This oil is poured in when the pump is assembled.
Filling levels: motors up to 3.8 kW
motors of 3.8 to 8.4 kW:
The pump is also equipped with a thermal winding contact (WSK) to prevent overloading.
Where the pump is assembled for stationary use, it is connected via a coupling base on the
outlet side. Where it is assembled for transport it is connected to a pipe connection on the outlet
side.
