Stomacare Ostomy Belt
Instructions for use
Your Stoma, wound nurse or physician has advised you to start wearing a stoma belt. For optimal care,
the user should read these instructions carefully before applying the belt. This product is a medical
device and is intended for use by one person only.
Intended use of the product
The EasyCut belt is mainly used postoperatively to support the abdominal wall and prevent the
formation of hernia and prolapse, for example during physical activities where pressure on the
abdominal wall is higher (sports, gardening, lifting, vacuuming, etc.). The EasyCut belt offers the
wearer a high level of wearing comfort, a safe and secure feeling in daily life.
Packaging content
First check that the contents of the packaging are complete and undamaged. If this is not the case,
please contact the person from whom you purchased the product directly. The packaging contains the
following parts:
Stomacare EasyCut Ostomy Belt
Aperture template
Applying belt
To wear the EasyCut belt correctly, you should preferably apply the belt while lying down. In case of a
fracture, in many cases it will sink back into the abdomen and the belt provides counter pressure. This
way the fracture is optimally supported. The belt is closed in such a way that you can still slide your
hand in between. The belt is then sufficiently tight to provide support but still wears comfortably.
Fig. 1
The circumference of the abdomen must be
measured to select the correct size. Use the size
chart to determine which size is the best fit.
Fig. 2
Place the belt on the bed (or put it on loosely)
and lie down on top of the belt. Close the front
Velcro closure at the desired tension in such a
way, a hand can still be inserted.
Fig. 3
Center the velour panel around the stoma-
opening (or wherever desired) and mark this
position with a marker. Now open the belt and
remove it.
Fig. 4
Lay the belt flat and use the aperture template to
mark the round or oval trimlines (depending on
the pouch system) onto the belt.
Fig. 5
Use sharp scissors to cut an opening in the
velour panel along the marked trimlines. The
velour material does not fray.

Attach the stoma pouch against the abdominal
wall and over the stoma opening and lie down
again. Fold the tip of the stoma pouch into a
point and guide it from the inside of the belt out
through the stoma aperture, with flange
remaining at inside of the belt.
Fig. 7
Make sure the stoma pouch is nice flat and
without folds and then position the belt over the
abdomen and close it. After closing, check
whether it's still possible to insert a hand
between the belt and your abdomen. If
necessary, adjust the tension. After completion
you can stand up.
Fig. 8
Attach one end of the prolapse cover to the
velour panel with the Velcro hook. Bring the
prolapse cover to the desired tension and then
secure the other end to the velour panel.

If chosen, first position the Protector (accessory
that protects you from unwanted pressure on the
stoma, e.g. due to seat belt) over the stoma
pouch and press it tightly with the Velcro onto
the belt. Then apply the prolapse cover as
described.

Additional product information / area of use

Existing user risks
No user risks are known. However, the user must regularly check if pressure points or other skin
irritations occur and must immediately contact the oEasyCut, wound nurse or technician if so.
Warning
The belt must not be worn too tight and must be tensioned in such a way that the hand can still be
inserted. The bandage should not come into direct contact with open wounds and should be worn on
dry skin. The use of lotion or creams is not recommended and should first be discussed with your
stoma, wound nurse or physician.
Maintenance advice
If the belt is not worn, it is important to store it with the closures closed. To elongate the life of the
belt, it is important that the Velcro straps remain free of dirt, dust etc. to continue to guarantee good
adhesion.
Materials used
Polyester, Polyamide and Elastane.
Washing instructions
We recommend washing the belt in warm water at 40º C with a mild detergent. To prevent damage to
the fabric, the Velcro closures must be closed prior to washing.
