Password Check Option

This option enables the password check option every time the system boots or the end user runs AMIBIOS
Setup. Always displays a user password prompt appears when the system is turned on. Setup displays the
password prompt only if AMIBIOS Setup is run. See page 63 for more on passwords. The BIOS Setup and
Power-On default is Setup.
Video ROM Shadow C000,16K
Video ROM Shadow C400,16K
ROM shadow is a technique in which BIOS code is copied from slower ROM to faster RAM. The BIOS is
then executed from the RAM. These two options enable Video ROM shadowing in the video ROM memory
segment at C000 – C7FFh. The settings are Enabled or Disabled. The BIOS Setup default is Enabled. The
Power-On default is Disabled.

Shadowing for adaptor ROMs between C800h and DFFFh can also be enabled in 16 KB increments. E000-
EFFFh can be shadowed in one 64 KB increment. EISA BIOS, SCSI BIOS, ESDI, LAN, or other BIOS
files may be located in these segments. Shadowing speeds execution. The settings for each of the above
options is Enabled or Disabled. The BIOS Setup and Power-On defaults are Disabled.
