The side brushes sweep dirt from the edges of fl oors and from corners, and direct it to the centre of the sweeper whe-
re it can be picked up by the main brush.
The side brushes «fl oat» and are protected by safety disks 5. When they come into contact with unmovable objects
(such as pillars, walls, etc.) disc 5 turns and the brush unit retracts, avoiding knocks. This ensures that the brushes are
not damaged.

Adjusting the side brushes

Check that the shapes of the "T" traces left by the side brushes are as shown.
As the bristles of the side brushes wear down, adjust the height of the brushes from the fl oor to maintain these traces.
Proceed as follows to adjust the side brushes:
Lower the brush using the lever 1.
Undo screw 2 on lock 3.
Move the lock one position forward on the toothed sector 4 to obtain the correct "T" tracebrush setting.
Tighten the nut 2.

Replacing the side brushes

Unscrew the four screws 6 and the brush comes away from its support.
After fi tting the new brush, repeat the adjustment operations described, returning the lock 3 two positions backward
on the toothed sector 4.
Tighten the nut 2.
Note: It is possible to adjust the angle of the brush using the screw 7.
