Instructions to Repair Bachmann On30 Davenport Gears

Below are the parts you will receive. The wheel set is circled in red.

Turn the Davenport over and remove the two screws indicated with the red lines. Make sure you save the

screws in a safe place.

Remove the cover plate. The drive gears are indicated by the red lines.

Page 2 Remove the wheel set. Clean the wheel contact wipers if they are dirty. Note the gears inside the engine. These are the gears that the new wheel set needs to engage. With the DCC logo to your left as shown, install the new wheel set so that the solid sides of the gears are toward you and they mesh with the driving gears underneath (see red lines).
Page 3 When you apply the cover plate, the pressure on the wheels may quarter them. If not, remove the side rod pins one at a time and enlarge the holes in the side rods (see red arrows) to allow more flexibility. Lube with gear oil as needed.
