12.3 RECOMMENDED SEPARATION DISTANCES

Recommended separation distance between portable and mobile RF communications equipment and the I-SURGE +
The I-SURGE + is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment in which radiated RF disturbances are controlled.
The customer or the user of the I-SURGE + can help prevent electromagnetic interference by maintaining a minimum
distance between portable and mobile RF communications equipment (transmitters) and the I-SURGE + as
recommended below, according to the maximum output power of the communications equipment.

For transmitters rated at a maximum output power not listed above, the recommended separation
distance (D) in metres (m) can be estimated using the equation applicable to the frequency of the
transmitter, where (P) is the maximum output power rating of the transmitter in watts (W) according to
the transmitter manufacturer.
XIII – DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING
As electrical and electronic equipment, the device must be disposed of according to a specialized
procedure for collection, pick-up and recycling or destruction (in particular on the European market,
with reference to Directive 2002/96/EC of 23/01/2003).
When your device reaches the end of its life, we consequently recommend that you contact your dental
equipment dealer (or, failing this, the nearest ACTEON GROUP office, the list of which is given in
chapter XVII), for information on how to proceed.
XIV – MANUFACTURER'S LIABILITY
The manufacturer is not liable if:
- the manufacturer's installation recommendations have not been followed (supply voltage,
electromagnetic environment, etc.),
- repairs or other work have been done on the device by persons not authorized by the manufacturer,
- the device has been used in an electrical installation which does not comply with current standards,
- the device has been used in a way which is not stipulated in this manual,
- accessories (motor and cord, irrigation line, etc.) other than those supplied by BY DENTAL and/or
SATELEC have been used,
- the instructions in this document have not been followed.
