2.1 Installation Requirements

FRITZ!Card PCI can be installed in Windows 98, Windows 95 or
Windows NT 4.0 (Workstation i386). The installation procedures
vary depending on the operating system.
To operate FRITZ!Card PCI on your computer, the following
requirements must be met:
• Your computer must have a free PCI plug-in slot and a free
interrupt for this slot.
• Find out which protocol is provided on your ISDN line by the
ISDN network provider. Connections employing the DSS1
and the American protocols National ISDN-1 (NI-1) and 5ESS
Custom are possible.
• An IBM or 100%-compatible computer with a hard disk and
a CD-ROM drive.
• Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 95 oder Windows NT 4.0
(Workstation i386).
• If the functions CAPI SoftFax G3 and CAPI SoftCompression
X75/V42bis (see section 3.2) are to be used, a computer with
a Pentium processor and 16 MB RAM is recommended.
• To operate FRITZ!fon or any other telephony software, a full
duplex-capable sound card and equipment for speech input
and output over the sound card are required (headset, for
instance).
If all of these requirements are satisfied, FRITZ!Card PCI can be
installed.
FRITZ!Card PCI and the software supplied with it were developed
for individual workstations, not for networks.
