• Make sure that the ISDN-Controller was inserted into the PCI
slot correctly. Rule out the possibility of a PCI slot defect by
installing the FRITZ!Card in a different PCI slot.
• The system was unable to assign an interrupt (IRQ) to the
ISDN-Controller FRITZ!Card PCI. This may be due to other PCI
components or incorrect settings in the BIOS of your computer.
Check whether the most current drivers were used for the PCI
components in your computer. PCI components are generally
sound cards, network adapters and graphics cards. The
computer's BIOS should also be as current as possible.
• Shared interrupts may also cause problems. Even if all
components have the most up-to-date drivers, problems may
occur for shared interrupts if, contrary to the specifications
of PCI, a driver does not support interrupt sharing. The driver
software for all AVM ISDN-Controllers supports interrupt
sharing in accordance with PCI specification 2.1. If a static
interrupt has been assigned to a PCI or ISA slot in the your
computer's BIOS, this may hinder interrupt sharing. The exact
BIOS settings are available in the documentation for your
computer.
Please use the information sources listed above before
contacting the Support desk.
For direct assistance, AVM offers FRITZ!Card Support, which helps
when problems arise during installation and the first steps of
operation with FRITZ!Card. The Support desk can be reached
from the Internet or by telephone.
Should problems establishing connections arise, please try to
establish a test connection to the AVM Data Call Center before
calling Support. See the instructions in the FRITZ! manual
("FRITZ!data" chapter) for information about how to establish a
test connection. As the ADC receives a great number of calls,
please try several times. In the case of an error, write down the
exact wording of the error message. Support may require this
information to rectify the error.
