    Send your existing dongle serial number to Kongsberg Mesotech sales or support. Kongsberg Mesotech will send you a license file (a .bin file). Store it on a known location on your hard drive. Insert your dongle into a USB port on your computer.

    DATSS Operator Panel Tablet and Remote Control App The Android tablet includes the Remote Control App, which allows you to control a DATSS system remotely. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A is a premium Android tablet that is slim, compact, and portable. The tablet is easy to grip in one hand, has excellent battery life, and good performance.

    Installing the wireless access point and tablet Installing the wireless access point and tablet By default, the tablet connects to the DATSS Processor Unit through an Ethernet wireless access point. A wireless Bluetooth connection is available as a backup option if you are experiencing problems with the wireless access point.

Connect an Ethernet cable from an Ethernet port on the DATSS Processor Unit to the PoE adapter’s port (B).

Plug the provided Bluetooth dongle into a USB port on your DATSS Processor Unit. You do not need the dongle if your computer is already Bluetooth capable.

Prerequisites If you wish to permanently install the mount, you will need suitable fasteners and a screwdriver.

    Simrad DATSS Operator Panel Instruction Manual Configuring an Ethernet connection The DATSS Operator Panel has been set up at the factory to connect to your DATSS Processor Unit via Ethernet. However, if you are supplying your own computer, you will need to set your computer’s Ethernet Port to a static IP address so that it can communicate with the tablet.

    Simrad DATSS Operator Panel Instruction Manual Setting up Ethernet on a new PC The tablet communicates with your Processor Unit through the Ethernet port. You must define which IP Address and Subnet mask the Ethernet adapter in the Processor Unit shall use for this communication.

    Appendix Setting up the wireless access point The provided wireless access point has been set up at the factory, so you will not ordinarily need to follow this procedure. However, if the wireless access point is reset to factory default, you will need to re-configure it as described here. Prerequisites The wireless access point must be installed and powered on.

However, if your tablet’s Wi-Fi settings have been reset, or you are experiencing issues connecting the tablet to the wireless access point, you can follow these instructions to connect the tablet to the correct static IP.
