800 Using a 9-pin to 4-pin
FireWire caBle and the
UsB caBle
Many laptops are equipped
with 4-pin FireWire ports.
However, 4-pin FireWire ports
do not supply power. In this
case, the FireWire connection
will transmit the data; the
USB connection will supply the
power. Data transfers will be
limited to 400 Mbps (max.).
1. Plug the 4-pin connector
of the FireWire cable into a
4-pin FireWire port on your
computer.
2. Plug the 6-pin connector into
the FireWire port on the Drive.
3. Plug the mini-USB connector
into the Drive's mini-USB port.
4. Plug the primary USB type A connector into a USB port on your computer or self-powered USB
hub.
