connecting via FireWire For this connection, your computer must have an available 6-pin FireWire port. Plug either end of the 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable into a 6-pin FireWire port on your computer. Plug the other end of the FireWire cable into the FireWire port on your Drive.

connecting via FireWire Using a 6-pin to 4-pin FireWire caBle and the UsB caBle Many laptops are equipped with 4-pin FireWire ports. However, 4-pin FireWire ports do not supply power. In this case, the FireWire connection will transmit the data; the USB connection will supply the power.

veriFy that the drive MoUnts to yoUr systeM Windows users: A few moments after you connect the Drive, it should mount and a new drive icon/letter will appear in My Computer. Mac Users: A few moments after you connect the Drive, it should mount and a new drive icon will appear on the Desktop/Finder.
If your Samurai is equipped with a DC power port, you can use the optional AC adapter to power the Drive. This option is particularly useful for conserving laptop battery power.
