The ambient pressure is measured directly via the integrated sensor. Pressure equali- sation between the unit and the environment takes place via a water-impermeable membrane on the front side.

After it is switched on, the device starts up in standard measuring mode, the relevant special function is started by pressing and holding the Function key for 4 s.
