SERIAL CABLE INSTALLATION

RS232

1. Loosen the cable gland connector for the serial
cable. The gland connector for the serial cable is
located on the bottom of the enclosure. Refer to
Figure No. 3 for an illustration of the gland connector
layout.
2. Slip the serial cable through the gland connector and
into the enclosure.
3. Remove 2" of the outer insulation jacket from the
cable then remove 1/2" of insulation from each of the
wires.
4. Referring to Figure No. 5 for the location of the
terminal block and for the correct terminal
connections, connect each of the wires to the
terminal block.
5. To connect each wire to the terminal block, first
loosen each of the screw terminals then insert the
wire under the terminal washer. Tighten the screw to
secure the wire in place.
6. Install the Receive mode jumper J4, ON the 232 pins.

RS422

1. Loosen the cable gland connector

connector layout.
2. Slip the serial cable through the
gland connector and into the
enclosure.
3. Remove 2" of the outer insulation

1/2" of insulation from each of the
wires.
4. Referring to Figure No. 5 for the
location of the terminal block and
for the correct terminal connections,
connect each of the wires to the
terminal block.
5. To connect each wire to the
terminal block, first loosen each of
the screw terminals then insert the
wire under the terminal washer.
Tighten the screw to secure the
wire in place.
6. Insure that the termination jumper
J6 is set correctly. It must be ON
for termination or OFF for
unterminated operation.
7. Install the Receive mode jumper J4,
ON the 422 pins.
