Using the wireless controls

You can control the wireless devices in your Slate using these features:
Wireless icon on the Home screen
HP Connection Manager software (select models only)
Operating system controls

Turning a wireless device on or off

A wireless device can be turned on or off using the Wireless icon in the Top Bar of the Home screen.
If a wireless device is disabled in BIOS Setup, it must be reenabled in BIOS Setup before it can be
turned on or off using the Wireless icon in the Top Bar of the Home screen.
NOTE:
Enabling or turning on a wireless device does not automatically connect the Slate to a
network or a Bluetooth-enabled device.
To view the state of the wireless devices, tap the Wireless icon in the Top Bar of the Home screen.

On your Slate, WWAN and GPS may be on a combined wireless device. When the WWAN wireless
device is turned on, the WWAN and the GPS are turned on. When the WWAN wireless device is
turned off, the WWAN is turned off, but the GPS can still be used with the Photo software. To show
the on/off controls:
1.
Tap the Wireless icon in the Top Bar of the Home screen.
2.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Using HP Connection Manager (select models only)

You can use HP Connection Manager to connect to WWANs using the HP Mobile Broadband device
in your Slate (select models only).
To start Connection Manager:
Tap the Connection Manager icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar.

Tap Start > All Programs > HP > HP Connection Manager.

Using operating system controls

Some operating systems also offer a way to manage integrated wireless devices and the wireless
connection. For example, Windows provides the Network and Sharing Center that allows you to set
up a connection or network, connect to a network, manage wireless networks, and diagnose and
repair network problems.
To access the Network and Sharing Center:
Tap the Wireless icon in the Top Bar of the Home screen, and then tap Network and Sharing
Center.
