Updating navigation data online
Navigation data for frequently travelled regions is
automatically updated in the background with an
existing Internet connection and valid privacy set-
tings → page 175, Privacy settings.

Navigation data is automatically updated while
the ignition is switched on.
Automatic update of navigation data depends
on the privacy settings set. No update is car-
ried out in "incognito"- mode → page 175.
Updating navigation data manually
Current navigation data for larger regions, e.g.
Western Europe, can be downloaded from the Inter-
net at www.volkswagen.com and stored on a suita-
ble USB data storage device available commercially.
If you switch off the Infotainment system, installa-
tion will be interrupted and will automatically con-
tinue once the unit is switched on again. Navigation
via the USB memory stick is not possible.

Download navigation data to a USB data storage
device
2.
Switch on the vehicle ignition.
3.
Connect the USB data storage device to the In-
fotainment system. The navigation data is auto-
matically updated in the background.

the navigation system.

Enter a known address for route guidance. The navi-
gation system will suggest possible destinations
during input.

onds.
Enter the destination as accurately as possi-
ble. If you make a mistake when entering the
destination, route guidance will not be possible or
you may be navigated to the wrong destination.
Predictive navigation
The "Predictive navigation" function uses stored da-
ta to suggest possible destinations.

Last destinations
The navigation system stores up to ten destinations
that you have driven to last in order to make them
available for route guidance. New destinations auto-
matically overwrite the oldest destination.
