Your LCD monitor is versatile, ergonomic, and above all easy to use. The LCD monitor is capable of displaying most standards, from 640 x 480 VGA to 1280 by 1024 SXGA. The front-panel controls allow you to easily adjust the monitor’s display parameters to suit your habits.
Unpacking After you unpack the monitor, make sure the following items are included in the box and are in good condition: LCD monitor · Power adapter · Power cord · Floppy/CD-ROM · (containing information file) This user’s manual · If you find that any of these items are missing or appear damaged, contact your dealer immediately.
Identifying Components and Controls The following figure shows the monitor’s power button, status LED, and On-Screen Display (OSD) controls: The controls are described below: AUTO button Automatically adjusts the picture and performance. The AUTO function should be used the first time you use the monitor and after changing the resolution and/or refresh rate of the input signal.
Adjusting the Monitor’s Tilting Angle Your LCD monitor’s vertical tilting angle can be adjusted for comfortable viewing. To adjust the tilting angle, grasp the top corners of the monitor with both hands and tilt to the desired angle. Warning! Forcing the monitor past its maximum extension can result in damage to the monitor.
Connecting AC Power Refer to the following instructions for connecting AC power to the LCD monitor. Plug the female end of the power cable into the AC-adapter and the male end of the power cord into a wall socket. (The plug on the power cable will vary according to the electrical standard for your area.) Plug the adapter power connector into the LCD monitor’s DC power jack on the rear of the monitor as shown here.
Connecting Video Turn off the PC and the LCD monitor before connecting your LCD monitor to the computer. Connect the VGA cable to the PC’s VGA port. Tighten the connecting screws.
This section covers the LCD monitor’s On-Screen Display (OSD), and front panel control buttons. Adjusting the Monitor’s Display The LCD monitor features an intuitive, menu-driven, OSD. You can access the OSD any time that the PC is powered up. If the PC is in a power saving mode, or is powered down, the OSD is inaccessible.
Use the DOWN Push the AUTO button selection menu. Push the AUTO button The OSD Groups contain the following adjustment functions: Display Adjust BRIGHTNESS CONTRAST H-POSITION V-POSITION CLOCK PHASE AUTOADJUST ADVANCEAUTO 1280 X 1024 / Brightness & Contrast To fine-tune the monitor’s brightness and contrast, select the item from the menu.
Clock & Phase To fine tune picture performance to compensate for drifts in the computer signal, select the item from the menu. Use the RIGHT 100 scale that appears at the bottom of the window. Push the AUTO button selection menu. Auto Adjust To enable the monitor’s Auto Adjust capability, select Auto Adjust from the menu.
Selecting a Color Temperature setting The following conditions are recommended for the available settings: Setting Select the desired setting from the menu. Push the AUTO button selection menu. Selecting a User-Defined Color Balance Setting You can fine-tune the red/green/blue picture settings according to your preference or specific application.
OSD Position To position the OSD window to your preference, select OSD Position from the menu. Use the RIGHT available positions. Push the AUTO button selection menu. OSD Time To set the duration of the OSD window’s display, select OSD Time from the menu.
Misc Adjust RECALL MODE TEXT/GRAPHICS INFORMATION BACKLIGHT SHARPNESS 1280 X 1024 / Recall To return the monitor’s settings to the factory default, select Recall from the menu. Use the RIGHT Push the AUTO button selection menu. Mode Text/Graphics To choose between the monitor’s automatic sharpness optimization for text or graphic use, select Mode Text/Graphic from the menu.
Backlight To set the brightness of the monitor’s backlight, select Backlight from the menu. Use the RIGHT 1-100 scale. Push the AUTO button selection menu. Sharpness To set the sharpness of the display, select sharpness from the menu. Use the RIGHT Softer-Sharper scale.
Troubleshooting Procedures This LCD monitor comes pre-adjusted with standard VGA timing. Due to output timing differences among various VGA cards, you may initially experience an unstable or unclear display when a new display mode or new VGA card is selected. Before applying any of the following troubleshooting procedures, you should first press the AUTO Warning Messages...

Environmental requirements Flame retardants Flame retardants are present in printed circuit boards, cables, wires, casings and housings. Their purpose is to prevent, or at least to delay the spread of fire. Up to 30% of the plastic in a computer casing can consist of flame retardant substances.
